Forming the Chico Triathlon Club and serving as its president had been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I had never done anything like it. I created an entirely new organization, where none had existed, that would meet Chico’s need or an all-inclusive triathlon club. A lot of people thought it would fail, but to the contrary it succeeded and thrived. Chico’s experienced triathletes challenged and supported each other, upped their games, and mentored new athletes. It changed people’s lives and gave me the opportunity to benefit my community in my own, unique way. When I resigned an president and moved to Sacramento with my wife (Dr. G), who was indispensable partner and supporter, we left behind an organization that continues to grow and thrive. It will endure for years to come.
We stayed in touch with our Chico Tri Club friends after we moved to Sacramento, but we missed being involved with our community, we missed the supportive group that motivated us to excel, and we missed mentoring new athletes. I started a blog. We started Life With No Limits Mental Skills Coaching and Sports Psychology Consulting. This biggest change however, is that we will race with the Wattie Ink. Elite Team for 2013. Wattie Ink. is a sports marketing company that markets sports companies and represents athletes. They focus on endurance sports and some of their notable athletes are Heather Jackson, Ben Hoffman, and Leslie Patterson. This year, Wattie Ink. will sponsor an under-25 as well. It has the support of:
- Blue Seventy
- Fuel Belt
- Blue Competition Cycles
- Kask Helmets
- 454 Tattoo
We will join the Wattie Ink. Team for its kickoff race at Wildflower before heading to the Woodlands for Ironman Texas. We plan on heading to Michigan later in the season for Ironman 70.3 Steelhead. We are absolutely thrilled to race with a team that we will see all over the country and at major races. This is another step for us, together, and we know this will motivate us to up our game. It will be a great 2013!
